About James

I'm DJ Upbeat James - an experienced DJ for your party in Edinburgh.

My DJing takes you back to the amazing nights you had as a student - your friends, brilliant music, and dancing the night away! I began my DJing career in a student basement bar, with a reputation for cheap drinks, the best tunes, and rather sticky floors. Since then I've kept student dancefloors moving, from tens to hundreds of people at a time.

But, I know it's never too late to have the night of your life. That's why I can be the DJ that takes you and your guests back to the good times.

The perfect party

No party is complete without music. So every party deserves someone who can devote their entire attention to getting that right.

Energy - Your event is guaranteed to be upbeat. I bring energy to the dancefloor and to my performance. It keeps the party going!

Passion - I'm passionate about the music I play. And I'm passionate about making your event rock. I prepare the tunes and pay attention to the detail, so you can party.

Memories - I play the music that brings your good memories into the present. I play the tracks that mean the most to you and your guests. And I mix them into a night that you won't forget.

It was really nice that James met me in person before the event and asked me what I wanted from the party. He listened to everything that I said – it almost felt like a brainstorming session - and planned a timeline of music for the evening. It was something I didn’t even think about before, but he clearly knew what he was doing. I felt like I didn’t need to worry about the music, and that was a big relief for me. James made my party fun, chilled and cheerful. The guests enjoyed the music whether they were chatting over background music, or singing on the dancefloor!
